The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) central deputy secretary general has condemned the “Shia genocide” in Karachi.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Maulana Amin Shaheedi demanded the president, prime minister, chief justice and army chief to take immediate notice of the murder of Shias in the metropolitan.

Shaheedi said around five Shias had been gunned down in the city in 36 hours by militants of banned outfits, but the government and law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) had failed to arrest any terrorist involved.

He said militants belonging to “outfits funded by America” had killed Azmat Ali in Shah Faisal Colony, and Munir Kazmi, Hussain, Qamar and Hasnain in Nazimabad’s Gol Market in broad daylight. He demanded deployment of the army in the city for strict operation against terrorists involved in the killings.

He said 14 to 16 people were killed in Karachi daily, but the government and LEAs had shown no interest in providing justice to the common people.

Political and sectarian killings in the metropolitan are part of a well-planned conspiracy of anti-Pakistan forces to destabilise the country, he added. He demanded crackdown against terrorists and banned outfits in the city.
